The NEW Post Your Campsite/gear/knife/hiking/anything Outdoorsy Pic Thread!

GAAAHHH!!!!!!

You guys so close to Sequoia are killing me with these pictures!

Ray, you got any room for us to move in - I promise I'll keep the shop clean! :D

Ray - Where did you end up going?

I took my cousin up to Tokopah Falls then we hiked around the Giant Forest for about 8 miles. Nothing new for me but it was new for him. The bears were the highlight for me. In the first picture you can see him climbing up the rocks about half way up, then he went for a swim in the freezing water at the bottom of the falls.

Matthew, you probably wouldn't like it in my shop. It's never clean but you're welcome here anytime.

Someday it'd be cool to take you up on that! Consider the offer revolving - if you need to meander out around my neck of the world, the door is open. I've got a big house and a spare bedroom. There's a couple cool things to see out here, too!

Your cousin is crazy, that waterfall is only a mile or so from the snow, so it must be just above freezing. I bet he didn't stay in very long.

Arnold palmer drink mix. This stuff is amazing. It has a permanent place in my summertime kit. :D

A little PB & honey sandwich and I'm ready to keep on moving.

I've been taking my new BK2 out this week for a getting-to-know-you break in period. It lives up to it's rep.

Trice, cool stuff  Never seen a blue slug before. Where you doing a bit of caving on this outing?

John G, Half and Half! I need to pick up that mix, I love ice-tea lemonade.

Lambertiana, I've finally acquired some backpacking gear. Once I get into good backpacking shape and have gotten a bit more experience under my belt, I'm going to check in with you to see if you have any open spots on one of your upcoming trips :) I've always wanted to tag along one some of your trips to these amazing places here in CA.

He's lucky he's so cute-that was right before he puked in my back floor.

Hers, not mine, though. He tries to follow us sometimes...pretty funny.

We keep him tied up if there's other people around, but he's really good.

Trumpet vine - granted, it's just my front yard, but it's still outside!!

Caught this crow with the camera in Allegany State Park - finally! These bastards are too smart for their own good!!!

HikingMano - Due to no vacation this year, I will only be able to do an overnight trip here or there. I am putting together an overnight out of Mineral King to Franklin Lake either Aug 19 or 26.

Next summer is a different story, I will do at least one week-long trip. I have a few different routes picked out.

Overnighters might work for me, but I want to get out a bit and gain some experience in local parks first (and get into backpacking shape). I don't want to be a burden to anyone. As of right now, I'll have to pass on your August Mineral King to Franklin Lake trip, but I'll shoot you an email as we get closer to next summer. Looking forward to it!

Thank you! I was hiking Zemplén mountain range in Hungary.

WTH? That's just cool.

Took a break from my little summer outdoorfest most of last week, but am off to a good start on this one.
Hazy and humid, but not horrible. The daily monsoon hit early, and I left with a bunch of wet gear after three climbs, though.

Should we have turned back there?
-Two of my friends, 199?. They're both hammock hangers, now, and have slightly smaller packs:D

Cool, Owen  Nice to have pics to go along with memories.

My contribution for today, tomatoes right off the vine :)
