After being down for almost two very long months, the new shop is finally finished  and I "moved in" yesterday. Later today after all the business paperwork is done I get to "make sparks" in my new home! My wife sure knows how to suck the fun out of building a new shop! She's right though, it's not ALL fun and games. Or is it?! ;)

I'd like to invite you all to take a look....

Have a great three day weekend all!!!

Your new shop is awesome, great convenient layout. May the dust start flying.

NICE:thumbup: Looks like it's well laid out, clean:p, and ready to be put to use! I like the "Home Security" addendum at the bottom:D

Thanks guys!

I'm done with paperwork and heading down there now. There is some raw burl shaking in it's little wooden boots waiting to be cut into blocks to be sent off. :D

P.S. The home security paragraph - I had to add it. I make knives and my son owns a tactical weapons accessory company and he takes care of Dad very well. And we live in the woods so you better have a reason to be on the property cuz we don't ask twice!! Ah, the smell of steel dust or powder in the morning...I doesn't get better than that does it boys?

Beautiful shop and a great website.

Oh what beautiful country you live in and what beautiful knives you make.

Very nice shop. Congrat's.

So nice and clean looks like a begainer, Ha Ha you'll make a miss out of it.

Nice shop

Thanks drc!

Art - I know! But I wish I would have had this when I started. My best tools then were a new Dremel for "carving" the handles and a 3 x 21 belt sander for the blades. That's a long time ago and I had a lot less gray in the beard.

And, you got your wish. It's a mess. I cut up what felt like a ton of burl this afternoon and prepped it for stabilization. I could write my name in the dust on anything flat in the shop until I vac'd it...Ha!

Well if it didn't get dirty you would not be making knives. I always tell every one I'm not a knifemaker I'm a dirt maker. Clean the shop and make one knife and you can't tell the shop was ever cleaned.
Glad you have a new shop ( happy Dirt )

Sure is! I just checked out your excellent site, very impressive package, sir!

I recently added another inch of dust to my shop and sent out a shipment of Osage and maple to be stabilized. Sure makes a real mess in the shop when you fire up the saws.

Thanks Nathan and John.

John,

Only an inch? Ha!:D I made mention on my Shop Tour that it would probably be the only time it's that clean but I am trying to maintain it. I cut and prepped a bunch of maple burl yesterday and it did take me about 20 minutes to vacuum the shop afterwards. I'm really trying not to get anal about it but with it being new it's a challenge.

Take care guys and have a great rest of the weekend.
