I usually keep an Esee in my Becker bag... Just to confuse everyone!

I dont have a real dedicated "1 knife brand" bag... These days I normally take at least 4 blades with me into the woods and it changes. but normally.... My small blade or neck knife for small stuff is the BK24 or custom that Terrio fixed up for me, I retired my 14 (for now) in favor of the D2.... My firewood splitter is always the Chopweiler but it gets used for most normal task around camp, and the Keffeler, Crimson, and/or Giedymin is always there for chopping.

Picking is usual pretty easy except for the 4-6" bladed knife..... In this case i always get hung up deciding whats going on my belt. And its just getting harder and harder. The Yuma and the drop point RMD Brotherhood blade now battle for the spot. They are both great knives and both have certain things i like better about them, making it a difficult choice. So it varies.

There is a way to make an AK from a shovel too... I don't remember all the steps, and I don't really know how well I'd trust it but it is possible.

Saw a dude do that. He was inspired by the pic floating around of the shovel handle for an AK stock. Used the D-handle for the stock and pounded the head flat and cut and bent it into a receiver and assembled a kit on it.

Oh, and in on one.

I love that word... It's possible to get a room full of monkeys to type out Shakespeare's collected works, too. ;)

 Haha

I was just watching some youtube videos earlier of this kid that made a few different types of guns. Shotguns and survival type 22s.

I really need to try out one of those RMD blades. It seems like something I'd like, even though I really hate how Busse does... Well... Everything. They are like the school yard bully. Mind you this is JUST MY OPINION. They seem to make a decent enough knife however I've only had very limited interaction with them.

The RMDs are great blades IMO bud. but the truth is I sold the Busse knives i had.

I still love me some swamp rat knives though, and have a couple scrapyards that i like as well. But i tested quite a few Busse knives and IMO the price to performance was not there "in my opinion"

I have always been honest about what i think of knives and thats not going to change. Like i always say i like good knives in good steel regardless of the name on them, and for the price of the Busse knives i have tried i have not seen enough performance to make the price justifiable. I still like a lot of the guys over there and talk with them from time to time, but i dont search to buy Busse knives any longer. They look cool, and even feel cool... But i have knives cheaper and more expensive that out perform them. My Giedymin out performs the 500-1000 dollar mistresses (BWM-ASHBM-FFBM) i have used and was only 300 bucks. I never really need to see whats inside a rock, so i have NOT tested to see if the steel on the giedymin will perform like INFI when abused but it has held up fantastically using it to chop hardwood though. And now my Comp Cutter cost as much as the higher end Mistresses but it just dominates everything i have ever held and only has a 10" blade. So if im going to spend 500-1000 bucks on 1 knife.... its not going to Busse.......

Just being honest here, i can get more performance for the price. And im about performance, not names. I am now, and always will be, searching for the best of the best of the best regardless of price or name... Id rather buy 1 knife a year than 20 if it means im getting one thats really going to perform in a way that makes the hair stick up on the back of my neck each time i swing it.

I'm gonna be getting a TGLB on a passaround and I'm interested in it. I don't know that I'd ever actually buy it but I'm glad I'll get to use one so I can actually judge for myself the performance aspect. I do have a scrapyard blade that is a DAMN good steak knife. But that is all I use it for.

I got to see Keifler's cutter at Blade show and... DAMN... Just... DAMN!

Yea the one he used at the show is a beauty!! Vanadis 4 extra and 2 tone handles... SEXY!!

I hope to get a chance to play with it a little in August, and im going to keep trying to talk him into bringing one of his swords with him as well.... Man id dance a jig to get the chance to swing one of them swords.

I'm tired. Me trying to wake up in 4 hours is going to be interesting...

Your welcome to a little of my energy if it would help :D

Man summer break starts Thursday over here for my kids. This school year went quick. They didnt get a spring break because of all the snow days, well they got 1 day off for spring break LOL but i guess not having a spring break makes me feel like the year shouldnt be over yet.

Hey WW how secure are those anchors for the hammock? I'm seriously thinking of getting rid of my bed and trying it in the bedroom instead.

They have them at REI, and I still have my dividend check for there so I'd get the anchors for... Well... free. Well not exactly free, with shipping would be $5.

They seem extremely secure bud. I can yank and pull on the straps connected to the anchors and the anchors dont budge, my wife made me do that before i got in with both kids just to ease her worrying. Now i only weigh 150 pounds but i was yanking them straps hard as hell and the anchors seem to not even move a little. Then me and both of my kids got in it for a little while with no issues, and then the wife got in there with me as well and no issues.

I think as long as you make sure you are in the very center of the stud your golden. I dont have a stud finder so i had to drill a few extras holes to find both sides of the stud to get the exact center but the extras holes were small and i just took a little white tissue paper, balled it up tight and shoved it into them holes and now you cant even tell they were drilled unless you got right up to the wall and you know they are there. Putty would have been better but i didnt have any.

You+wife makes me feel better about it. Thanks! I realize I'm probably still bigger than you+wife but it would be closer. I just checked the REI page, it says weight limit of 400 (which is way over my weight thankfully!) But I also asked the "Powers that be" (aka HammockForum).

I just went online to pay my cable, but I've already paid it for the month!! It will be nice to have an extra $156 to go on til the end of the month!!
