I've handled one at AG Russel's not too long ago. Pretty interesting and well made, if you crave for that kind of blade. It looked strong enough for a liner lock, but of course I didn't do any spine whack test. I think they don't make the plain edge version, so I had to pass.

The visions blade is actually what sold me on the knife I liked the look of it, yea it does suck that its not in plain but I still think I might buy it because of the cool looking blade it is kinda like the BM Strykers blade which is also very cool....

This is only their second attempt at a hi-tech folder (the JetEdge was first) and it looks like their moving in the right direction. I'd like to see a plain edge, though, and maybe a 'junior' size.

Uggh!

You should warn people before you show them stuff like that! I just ate!

Seriously though I would NEVER buy that knife.

Seems like SOG tries hard to come up with decent designs. I think they make a decent knife for the price. The SOG bowie and Trident are a couple of my favorites, but the only SOG folder I ever had was an AIRSOG, it was nice and light and easy to use. Maybe this new design will take off, it is different and not too radical.

I actually got one of those, because it looks ... interesting

. Definitely a solid knife. I don't like the ergonomics of the handle though. Doesn't even compare with BM710 that I normally carry. But the finish that SOG applied to titanium in that handle make it look very cool.

Well I agree that it LOOKS cool but with that rear tapering and what appears to be a smooth handle finish, I' ll definitely pass. Their Jet Edge series had carbon fiber scales that felt glass smooth. How is that suitable for a using knife??? (Sign...)

No offense, but, UGHHH!

The blade is a little too radical, and the handle looks EXACTLY like one on one of my first knife designs..ugh!

Yeah! Drop the chalupa...

I like the blade. Would rather have it plain (without serrations). It would make a good "bitch blade" (<== a knife I abuse without mercy, like a Gerber EZ-Out). But, at $144 it's not something I would just get to have it. For a little more I can get a custom fixed blade.
If the price would come down to earth (~$50), I'd get one.

Man, everyones intilted entitled to their own opinion, but like Automatic and others said, that knife is way overdone. I look at it and think to myself: To much! Whats with that weirdo tip! that just not appealing to me, at all! different strokes for different folks. But thats just like my opinion.

I like that knife...my friend andrew(renfield) doesnt but i dont care. The way design infringement is going these days...thats a pretty appealing blade to me.
Now on the other hand, for that money i'd get a rekat or BM.

whatt'ya gonna do...i got bruzes on my handz!

SOG Vision... My thoughts?
It's overpriced.
NO WAY this knife should run $129.99-$144.00. It's price should be in the $100.00 or less range, like the other knives that it is competing with. It offers nothing special to warrant this sticker price.
Combo edges suck IMO, the peg needs to be further back and the tapering handle in the back does not feel right in the hand.
So, why is this knife more expensive than the knives it is competing with?

I have a SOG Vision, and I must say, I love it dearly.
I place it on the level of an AFCK or better - Easily.
Other blades of its level? What do you mean?
What is low rent about a solid Ti handle and a well crafted ATS-34 blade?

George Hill,
If your questions are directed at me, I would point you in the direction of the Benchmde Pinnacle, which also has Titanium slabs and an ATS34 blade and an integral lock for around $100.00.
The SOG Vision is not "low rent", it is just too high a price to pay for something that has nothing special to offer.
Many other folding knives have Titanium and ATS34 in them and they almost all hover around the $100.00 mark.
Let's face it, ATS34, while still a good performer, is becoming pretty pedestrian with all of the newer high alloy super steels that are available.
If the knife were offering 154CM or BG42 or 440V, it might help to justify the price, IMHO.
Hell, Kershaw has Titanium slabbed ATS34 linerlocks for under $80.00! I just bought a brand new Talon for $35.00!
I don't see anything in this Vision that warrants the tariff that SOG is asking for it.

If it's stupid but works, then it isn't stupid!

I keep seeing 154CM referenced as a higher quality steel than ATS-34. The two are damn near identical. 154CM is actualy considered the US made version of ATS-34.

Yes, but isn't 154CM Double vacuum smelted resulting in a cleaner steel? I understand that 154CM has less impurities giving it better overall qualities than run of the mill ATS34. Finer edge, more flexibility and so on...
