The New Work Sharp “Angle Set” Sharpener: Review & Sharpmaker Comparison

Just for follow up in case anyone finds themselves here like I did.
Got the Work Sharp Angle Set sharpener a couple days ago. It was what I hoped it would be. Good higher grit diamond and the angle adjust-ability is really handy. Also I like the rotating posts. I found that not fully rotating them "square" worked very well for ease of sharpening. I understand that this means that the angle changes with wrist movement but it suites my need to quickly sharpen my daily beater. I have some knives I wouldn't use on this but for everyday use, it works well, especially for the modest cost.
I give it a 10 on the "bang for the buck" scale. Your millage may vary...

The stones should not move very easily. They should stay where you put them unless you intentionally move them.

Thanks for the detailed comparison and review. :)

Now if they'd only make one with a 20° inclusive angle ...
(60 years ago I was taught that a knife should be sharpened at 10° per side, by W.R. Case & Sons, (sharpening brochure), father, uncles a few aunts and great aunts, grand fathers, grand mothers, great grand father, great grand mothers, and great-great grandmother.
If memory serves (no guarantee) at least one of my Boy Scout troop leaders said the same thing.)
(My Cub Scout Den Mum (who just happened to be my mum) never mentioned knives or their care. Looking back, I don't think she ever knew how to sharpen or care a knife.)

New forum member here! This was an excellent review/comparison! I am bumping so I can find it later. Thank you AFAustin!

I realize this is an old thread, however I recently watched a YouTube demo of a guy using this sharpener and it seemed to wiggle [a lot] when he passed the knife over it. Wiggle, as in the triangle rods were not being held secure enough by the magnets on the base. I'm just curious as to whether anyone else has experienced this. I realize you could hold the top of the rods with your non-working hand, but that would put you in an extremely awkward for the other side (as in if you were holding the top of the rods with your left hand while at the same time trying to use the left side stone(s). Just wondering...

Wiggling wasn't an issue with mine. I no longer have it as I gifted it to a family member in need of a portable easy-to-use sharpener.

I may eventually get another one, though, because the Angle Set is about the only V sharpener I'm aware of with fine and coarse diamond rods.
