The New York Show

Coming back to the Crowne Plaza was like a breath of fresh air, literally. The Fall show felt like a heated dungeon. Some had suggested that there was an additional row added onto the showroom floor! Despite the crowded ailes, the show was a great success. While I am not versed at handmade bowies, Mike Johnson had some real good looking pieces at his table. They were very clean and well finished. All sold. I met Mike at a NY show a few years ago when he came by the Dozier table to introduce himself and chat knives. And he visited the tables of quite a few other makers, examining many of their pieces. He was quite entusiastic while at the same time absorbing as much info.

Sorry if I had missed a few of yous. The Dozier table was hustling and bustling for the first 2 days. The third day allowed for bathroom timeout! And even a bite to eat rather than sampling sweets out of my pockets! :) PhilL saved the day for me. ;) Thanks again Phil.

Too bad the fall show is back in the hole in the ground we know as the Park Central.. (I think I'm the only one who liked the Hotel Penn as the venue)

Good thing. Or else the next one gets delivered with a bite (or 2) out of it :D

I've bought a bowie pair from Andrew Jordan. One has a fine polished O1 blade with damascus hilt and buttcap, the other a random damascus blade with stainless guard and buttcap. Really stunning knives.

Yeah baby. Stunning. He does this particular damascus pattern very well indeed.

If only. I stumbled on this pic and site a while back and I think the whole package looks great.
