The newest in a long line of customer designs. This design came from Peter Howard (KYenglish), and will be joining the JK Handmade Knives lineup. This one features zircote handles and aluminum pins.

I present "Toby`s Knife."

Here are the specs:
6 3/4" overall
3" blade
3/32" thick x 3/4" tall blade of O1 steel
(it will also be available in 1/8" thick O1)

This one would be a great companion for all you hunters, and would work equally well doing food prep in your camp or kitchen.

Nice job guys! Great design and build. Simple, clean and pocket sized. Just the way I like 'em.

Thanks! The look of the zircote reminds me very much of cocobolo, which I can`t use because I`m allergic to it.

I`m hoping KYenglish will pop in here and remind me of the name he gave this model, I can`t seem to remember it!

Wow! Been staring at those pictures :D

I've been calling it "Toby"/"Toby's Knife" for my son who passed away. I don't know if it's the best name for a knife but it's the one for me. I enjoyed designing it and, I tried to learn all I could from everyones suggestions and I think that has a lot to do with the final result.

Thanks John, you did a great job as always, the Zircote looks fantastic. I'm really happy it's made it to the line up,, thats an honor. I hope it sells well and pleases many, :), it would mean a lot if it does, but it's already everything I hoped for and more.

This does not help me making a decision ...

KYEnglish,
I must have posted this about the same time you posted why you chose the name for your knife.
I'm sorry for your lost.

Peter, I can't tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I am glad the "Tobey Knife" is beautifu design that had a lot of care put into it. I like it a lot and will have one some day, if for no other reason, to say I am thinking of you and your family.

Thank you all, I don't mean to bring sadness in or attached to the knife,

It's something I thought I might be able to do and, only with help from a great forum and a skills of a great knife maker, see happen. If it makes it mean a little more to someone else, that makes me happy as well, but I think it will be a great B and T/edc and a good addition to the JK lineup anyway.

Your comments all mean a lot, I don't talk about him much with anyone but my wife, I think the processes has helped me work through some stuff. Its a rare and unique thing, thanks again for the opportunity JK.

From now on though it's strong knives and good looking designs for their own sake, cause it's a little overwhelming to. :D

A fitting tribute to your boy's memory......enjoy seeing your ideas come to life in wood and steel. Isn't it amazing how John can read between the lines and make your design come out exactly like your vision, no matter the level of your artistic ability?

kyenglish....just saw your post about your boy Toby. So sorry to hear that. Wish i could type something more meaningful. As others have said....it's a beautiful tribute.
