well, I ended coming home with a tent. :D

I got to thinking at the store, I need a tent more than a chopper, as I have some choppers on the way, but no tent to speak of.

ugh..... im terrible.

Any one of these.

But for your price range I'd say any of these.

Spruce, Pine and Birch..a 14" machete is as light and functional as it gets..I recomend Tromontina. Gene

how big? and how heavy? I've got something in the works I would be happy to talk about. Prototyping a bit.

Get one of those 14 inch Fiskars axes. Crappy tire usually has them in their flyers every August for at least 20-30% off.
One summer they had a 50% sale and i picked up three! Remember to check the axe section in the tool area and the gardening area.
Tramontinas are awesome and cheap! Get an 18 incher and do a Colhane mod! (see youtube)
I chopped mine down to 14 inches to emulate the SAS Golok, works great!
The Marbles machetes are actually pretty good too. They are just rebranded Imacasa machetes.
So did you actually break the axe head or just the handle?
If only the handle then just rehandle it, i've done a few its not that much work.

tholiver, that is a 4 yr old thread :) But always a fun subject no matter the year.

I am planning a Condor Golok and also a Wetterlings Light Woodsmans Axe(I think I might have the name off- the one Les had a hand in).

But my CRAVE chopper right now is a Culberson Bolok!

Very weird, it showed up in my active thread list yesterday that's why i opened it and responded.

Discussing new gear to get is always a fun subject.

Correction on the name of the axe:
Wetterlings Foresters Fine Axe. I want one....
