I bought the liner lock Sage, and I was very pleasantly surprised. It is a great knife. Now I wonder if anyone has any idea, when the next installment will be issued, and what lock mechanism will be next? It will be a must buy! :):)
Thanks,
Dave.

Sal said the current plan is for the Chris Reeve integral (frame) lock next. It's about time he built something I can pass on.

Very nice. I avoided the Sage simply because I don't seek out knives with liner locks. There is no question in mind the lock is solid. A friend of mine at work has one that I got to handle. It truly is a quality knife and I love the CF handle. If a Sage comes out with a frame lock I will not be able to resist. I'd love to know the ETA on this.

Il be picking up a framelocked sage for sure, Im looking foward to the ball lock sage as well

So it will be titanium instead of carbon fiber on the lock bar side of the knife? NOOOOO!!!!

I've got the prototype for the Reeve Integral Lock Sage model. We're tooling up now.

I had to get permission from Chris to use his name.

I've already gotten permission from Blackie Collins to use the "Bolt Action" lock.

I don't think I'll have any difficulty getting permission from Gary Fadden at Al Mar for the McBurnette/Mar mid lock back.

I'm pretty sure we can do one new one per year. I'm open to suggestions.

There are many to choose from, it's just the priority that must be set. The maker is a good one and I have faith that they can do a good job on making any of them.

It'll probably be steel, but yea, no CF on the locking side. For that matter, do we even know if they're going to use CF on the next Sage? They may want to play around with handle materials.

I'd love to see a titanium framelock Sage, but I think they're trying to keep the cost down on this one.

This sounds like a very neat project. I like the knife alot and may have to try one of the liner locks....I will get a liner lock for sure!!!!!!!!!!!

Just 2 titanium scales.

We try to use the handle materials prefered by the lock creator.

Hopefully you'll be able to get permission from the inventor of the compression lock...

:p

Wow.

I have an old Gerber Parabellum, designed by Blackie Collins, with a bolt action lock. That's a great design. Glad to see Spyderco will be using that lock.
