What's the difference between Magnacut and Signature in Magnacut?

There are four main configurations. Basic or signature. D3V or Magnacut.

This upcoming sale is for three of those four possible options.

"signature" is the FK3. Basic is the Basic 5.

So question- asking for a friend.
Do entries like "q" or "h" count in the ordering thread?
That's probably the only way (including leaving the office early) that I could compete against some of you guys!
That's the only way any of us get in on an ordering thread.

He who posts "I'd like a MagnaCut FK3 with double-black linen micarta and shiny blue fasteners" ends up on page 7.

He who posts "ME WANT KNAF" ends up on page 4.

He who posts "IN" ends up on page 2.

He who posts "5" might actually get in.

Amen. I literally have an index card with a 10 step sequence that I rehearse a few times before zero hour. The final few mouse clicks and key strokes are the most important. One mis-stroke and you can end up pages back. Also, forget about doing anything over 5G, etc. you want to be on a hard high speed connection. I learned that lesson the hard way the first time I tried. Yes, it can be that competitive.

No, neither one of them do. They're both five and a half inch blade length.
I hope this isn't a stupid question, but I'm confused after reading the threads.
You said the upcoming Basic and Signature knives will both have 5.5" blades. The Signatures (fk3) before had blades just under 5" with skeletonization. The upcoming round of Signatures will now have 5.5" blades (kinda new model?). Question: Will these signatures blades be skeletonized? I would think that they won't be since then they would not be properly weight balanced like the Basic 5.

Do you think the FK2 was the FK3?

The Basic 5 and FK3 have all always had 5.5” blades. There was never a “signature”-denominated version of the FK2.

I guess it was a stupid question. I am new here and don't know the nuances of every version of each model. The video says the basic 5 is a longer version the field knife and therefore not skeletonized to maintain the proper balance. If upcoming Signature and Basic are both 5.5", is the Signature not skeletonized like the Basic? I imagine they are both balanced well.

No stupid questions, only stupid people!

The answer is here:

“Make my Basic 5 a Signature Series FK3 Field Knife $115
(jimping on the thumb ramp, weight reduction skeletonization in the tang, swedged blade)”

It's not a stupid question and I apologize for making it complicated.

The 5" FK3 (which is a 5.5" signature field Knife) is skeletonized and the blade has a large swedge to remove the unwanted weight from the blade.

Signature(fk3) is the BFK ,but skeletonized under the handles , jimping on the thumb ramp and a swedge
