The NEXT SALE

Jackal, this issue has been discussed in the past and I must admit that I rubbed some fellow CPK'ers the wrong way skirting around the same issues. The word from the Boss then was that He'd be fine with it as long as folks did not abuse the system. No one has ever has claimed more than a couple of units on any sales thread, that I can recall and I've been here since the inception. The CPK Brass has also bent over backwards in the past to accommodate the people who got bumped and bounced by the new Forum's format and software glitches. I have come to accept that at the end, it all worked out for all.

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask, but as this thread pertains to the sales threads I'll go ahead and a mod can move if appropriate. What's the opinion or general rule of claiming knives on a sale thread. Is it OK to edit your post after the fact? Changing quantities and such?

A lot of people just type the first gibberish that their fingers hit to secure a spot, a tactic that seems A-okay with those calling the shots on this sub. I know what I want going into the sales so I'll type it out beforehand, copy it, then paste it when either the thread opens or pops up.

To be honest it's not the quantity claimed that's got me a bit miffed, but when you finally get a spot claimed for a knife, just to be bumped out by someone editing their post and increasing the quantity, it's more than frustrating.

Noy guilty of typing gibberish, yet. Well, almost but certainly not on here. Elsewhere? Yes, guilty as charged.

I understand your pain Jackal. I've been on the receiving end of that one too. The good news? We have great folks on here and someone will most likely assist to get you this knife if you should miss out on one. I think there will be more.

You beat me to. That's exactly what happened. Went from #15 to #16. These knives have eluded me(and many others) for a long time. Finally get one claimed and just like that, back to zero.

It's impossible to police regardless, so good, bad or ugly, one could try to beat their head against that wall, but there's not much to be done about it. C'est la vie...

All's well that ends well. Came home to a message from Jo, and I just made payment on an edc. Gotta say I'm looking forward to getting a cpk in hand and using it. Thanks for the replies, and I'll definitely be seen around a bit more know that I'll have some useful input into the conversations.

You're a brother Ironworker.. we don't say much that's useful

^^^know one in Cadiz, OH? Worked at the gas plant there, so I could have used one.
Actually, I hunt all around Cadiz. I've got a camper on some property one city north in Hopedale. Good little bar is Frank's. Really good looking blonde girl works there. Over 6' tall. If you're on a bar stool you gotta look up to make eye contact.

Props to Casinostocks Casinostocks for the 4V hookup :) . I just started using the D3V EDC on the job and will compare how O4V holds up (and how fast corrosion starts to occur when O4V is left unmaintained). Casinostocks Casinostocks is the bestest for making this happen :D
I'm looking forward to your comparison! Congrats on the score!

Also, thanks to CS.. Adamlau isn't the first person he's been willing to help. What goes around comes around.

Out of office yesterday, so missed a shot at an EDC ... again :(. Too slow on the keyboard for the last sale.
I know a lot of us are waiting for the HDFK to make its appearance, but are there still more EDCs coming? I want one in 4V :)
