I gotcha. With so many great choices out there sometimes it feels like I’m splitting hairs when making calls.

My HDFK is TT, works great. I also have black unbuffed micarta, black buffed micarta, edge cut vintage micarta and buffed maroon linen micarta handles for it. I’m down to basically this.

If one needs maximum grip, TT. If not, buffed edge cut vintage micarta. But wood wouldn’t get kicked outta my bed given the choice. Smaller knives wood over all.
 
Is antyone able to proxy for me for hdfk coming up. I work in a job where it's impossible for me to go for one

I believe it’s prototypes of the 10” medium chopper?
Next week should be HDFKs

ETA:from the last sale (Feb 9):

Come by our forum in two weeks, we will have a few prototypes of the new 10" Medium Chopper on Friday Feb 23rd.

Return of the HDFK, here in three weeks.

Most likely nothing because if it were to be a sizable sale, Nathan would've announced it with ample time. There's a smallest sliver of possibility that he may offer what Nathan terms as a "fun Friday sale", meaning some very limited number of modified and augmented versions of his patterns. Just keep looking throughout today and early tomorrow for that announcement, but if you asked me, I'd say that's not happening either because the CPK-Team is very busy with the ongoing and the upcoming projects.

The fact that Nathan has yet to update the OP in this thread, leads me to believe that the projected 2/23 sale is on the back burner. I know that Nathan almost reads everything so if 2/23 is still on schedule, he should be chiming in very shortly!
