The next step in the nucular game of chess.

I have a bigger problem with Pakistan actually having nukes at the moment. The country is not stable, Musharraf is not well supported by his own people. Many islamist/Taliban (remember Pakistan was the country they came from) want to overthrow the country which would bring nukes into the hands of what would be a terrorist government. They also have means of placing nukes in position where they are dangerous - the French sold them some submarines that are pretty hard to detect - they can be armed with atomic missiles ( The submarines are just like the ones of the "dolphin" class Germany delivered to Israel earlier this year - except for the H2-engine).

Something will happen if the nuklear power spreads into the arabic world, their actions are just too unpredictable, maybe the Saudis already have the bomb - would not surprise me as they have the money to buy them maybe they got them in the early ninetys, when the Soviuet Union fell apart - I guess lots of not so well guarded nukes for sale back then (I know these weapons have to be maintained but I think this would not be the problem if you only have enough money).

Sorry Andreas, but thats distraction. Pakistan having nukes is a serious problem, I agree, but its a seperate issue, so lets stay on topic. This happens every time the Iran problem is discussed. Why should we ignore Iran simply because Pakistan is a problem too?

Iran leading the Mid East into becoming a nuclear zone, and our allowing that to happen is the topic.

Double post. Sorry. Dang satelite internet.

sorry, didn´t want to distract - but I did not say we should ignore Iran (Iran was not in the original topic either)- it is just not the biggest threat in my eyes right now.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Pakistan and India are not good spots for nukes IMO, but allowing Iran to lead the Middle East into a nuclear zone is inexcusable independant of that situation. Somehow this discussion always gets derailed by the Pakistan issue. Very serious, certainly, and you stated it very well.
