Ken, I just read a post in the chinookII passaround thread that makes me belive one of the sheaths being passed around with that knife is designed to carry the chII in the open position. I believe these were made and provided for the pass around by Tom Krine so you might want to get up with him as well as Robert H in regards to an appropriate carry rig.
