Yep, thats a sweet knife. The wrapped handle looks great and i bet it feels great as well!!

Wow thanks Lorien.
It was a fun build, great design, and a knife that I wanted to hold on to. I am excited to see this knife being used. If you need anything my friend you know how to reach me.
Dan

Dan, sounds like to need to come on up for a visit, my friend!
Thank you for everything, I can't wait til our next project :)

That's a whole lotta bad-ass!!! :D

Lorien, you better not invite Dan up there though. He doesn't cut trails, he clears forests!!! ;) :D

Nick, true that, my friend. I'm getting a bunch of trails flagged and ready for Dan :)

It occurred to me today that someone asked about how this beast is carried, so I took some pics today while I was out there.

It's been four weeks plus a day that I nearly took the end of my finger off with this thing. Today was really the first day that the severed nerve in that finger didn't send a jolt up my hand any time I knocked it weird. I had a really productive session today and tied several sections of trail together. The North Sword makes it much easier to plow through the understory, which is sometimes several feet above my head in some areas. Now that I'm healed up, I'm finding it much easier to get around because I don't have to keep my finger out of touch. Also, it's much easier to type now since I can almost feel the keys. So, watch out, I guess.

Great design Lorien and Dan great execution. Lorien can't wait to see more on your new two handed chopper design! Thanks for sharing.

lorien good to hear good news from you....and what i have to say is.............
woaaaahhh!!!!!!!amazing!!!! perfect shape perfect construction perfect machetochoper!!!!!!! i'm jealus!!dear lorien i ask your permit to copy that and built one similar for my self!!!

hariklis- please feel free to interpret this pattern as you will :)

Wow--super nice job, Lorien and Dan. Hats off to you both!

Nothing like using many different knife designs at a given task over time to develop a sense of what works, and it looks like Lorien, you've taken advantage of everything you've learned about trail clearing with this piece. And with Dan's typical high standard of execution and knowledge of steel and geometry, what a tool! Congrats.

Thanks Will, I appreciate the gravity behind your words, being a demanding and experienced user of custom knives that I know you to be.
As for the learning aspect, I'm just getting started. This blade is stretching my limitations- almost tantric in explorative scope.

I've developed a variant of this pattern already, and will have one on its way to Dan, and another to a secret mystery maker, next week ;)

And thank you, Bruce :)
