This is the second knife in deep relief engraving that I made this year.
The blade is CPM S30V, heat treated by Paul Boss to perfection. It is 60HRC, flat ground ans hand rubbed to 800 grit.
The dimesions are 5" by 1"(at widest) and 1/8" at thickest.
The bolster is Stainless Steel type 330. Deep reliefe hand engraved-carved with the oak leaf motiff. My maker stamp is engraved on the Sterling Silver inlay under the blade (on the picture)
The handle is Black Walnut. Fully vacuum treated, polished with carnauba wax. The handle is 4-1/4" long.
The blade tang goes all the way trough the handle and has a nut on the knife butt. This nut has the loop to tie the knife if you need it. The butt nut is the same Stainlkess Stee type 330. This knife in not a take down one, everything is assembled permanently with epoxy.
I made the sheath for it from 9Oz leather. Hand stiched, all seams glued. Dyed and threated with the leather balm and polished.
I also made an " engraving" on it. Tried to keep not only Oak style but the texture as well.
The sheath has a right side belt loop.
