I know that Porsche used to be 13,000 mile intervals. The European cars seems to be consistant in that they recommend longer intervals.
My 02 Silverado 1500 kicks on the light every 5000 miles. Our 05 Pontiac Montana has one of the monitors that shows the % of oil life left. I haven't quite figured that one out yet. It varies between 4000 and 5000 miles when it gets down to 25%.
My 03 Isuzu NPR 20' straight truck gets changed every 5000 or so too. It's such a gas hog with a 6.0 Chevy motor (9-10 mpg), sometimes I change it sooner if I notice that my mpg has dropped to below 9 mpg.
