Hi chaps, this is my first post but I've been reading for a few months now. My name is Mike, I'm 32 years old and live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I found this forum when I googled " 8cr14 vs Aus 8", this after purchasing my CRKT M21 - 04G. Anyways, it's been kind of down hill from there. In the space of less than 2 months I have purchased the M21, a Kershaw Vapour, a Cudeman butterfly knife, a Gortech throwing knife, 3 Victorinox knives, a CRKT Triumph NECK knife and just today a Ka-Bar USMC. I have my eye set on a Kershaw Leek, the OCC version - probably my next purchase.

I have really enjoyed reading your posts and viewing the pics on this forum, so I thought I'd share some pics of my small, yet growing collection.

First up is a knife that my grandfather gave me about 20 years ago. It has been by my bedside for most of those 20 years and has seen plenty action and some abuse aswell. I have no idea who it's made by - anyone seen one like this before?

CRKT Triumph NECK - awesome little fixed blade.

Kershaw Vapour - my EDC 90% of the time. I use this knife for everyday tasks and it gets the job done with a smile on it's face.

CRKT M21 - 04G. I really like this knife. It feels solid in the hand and is very sharp.

My Victorinox knives. The Oris one I've had for roughly 17 years, found it in the roof of the house I grew up in. I recon it must have belonged to the previous owner of the house and fell out of his pocket while up in the roof.

Cudeman butterfly knife and a little brass handled folder that I bought about 16 years ago while on holiday in a small town called Knysna, about 5 hours drive from Cape Town.

Nice collection. It's a sickness with no cure, just accept it. I hope to see your country someday, I think it's beautiful.

Welcome aboard. Set aside an allowance and then be prepaired to raise the limit on a regular basis. Also, hire a shrink!

By the way, nice collection.

mike_b, welcome to the forums.

Set aside an allowance and then be prepaired to raise the limit on a regular basis. Also, hire a shrink!

1. Set aside an allowance... check
2. Be prepared to raise said allowance... check
3. Hire a shrink... Nope, I have no intention of fixing it.:)
