be nice to meet of course, but it's a long way from likely that we'll be coming there, I appreciate your thoughts on the region to, hope you find somewhere to suit soon, and us to!
It looks like my gift is at the PO. I found a notice in the mailbox, guess the mailman was too lazy to come to the door with it. I just hope Connie gets home early enough so I can pick it up, too cold to walk there.
Being the impatient child that I am, instead of waiting for Connie to get home with the car, I braved the 2 degree weather (with snow coming down) and walked to the post office.
This is what the package contained.
The survival set I had auctioned off
A nicely rehandled Victorinox
Keychain firestriker
Coin
Heavy duty tin
The keychain fire striker is what Countycomm called a "permanent match" if I remember correctly. The brass fitting in the top unscrews revealing a reservoir that you fill with Butane. Attached to the brass fitting is a hollow metal tube with a little kapok or something on it. The striker for the fire steel is also in the center of that tube. I put my finger over the whole in the case and then you scrape the striker down the fire steel. The sparks catch the Butane in the kapok on fire and it stays lit until you blow it out or all the fuel is burned up. Neat little gizmo. Glad you like everything, John. Putting this together was my pleasure.
My package went out this morning. Sorry it's so late, this completely slipped my mind.
Here's what I got yesterday -
Never owned a tomahawk or SAK before. I usually carry a Leatherman Surge but the SAK has come in handy several times already and the tomahawk will be fun to play around with. Thanks Will!
