The Official “Made in the USA” Thread

Here's an American-made music instrument. It looks good. And I imagine that it would sound good too, if it were played by a musician instead of by me. :)

Good thinking. Thanks! Now tell me about that cool shaving gear.

Custom razors by Brian Brown and Butch Harner (in 1095 and CTS-XHP) and a couple custom hand turned badger brushes made by members of another forum here in the USA. There really is nothing quite like a great shave from truly premium gear that is specifically made and honed to your preference.

To those who have never received a proper shave, add it to the list, and insist on the full treatment from a barber classically trained, or learn to do it yourself and put in the time and effort to learn the craft. Like many difficult things in life, it's worth the challenge.

What's up with all the stock photos? Let's see some of your personal stuff! :)

This was definitely made in America by an American. Whether or not it was made in the USA is a matter of opinion. ;)

Wilson Jim, Navajo. Probably made in the late '70s

Great looking buckle, UffDa, and beautifully executed! I'm familiar with Wilson Jim - one of the best of his generation. My buckle in post #18 is Navajo, circa 1920s, no hallmark. Here's another shot of it with some other American made "products". ;)

I've never had a straight razor shave, but I recently switched from disposable cartridge razors to DE and am blown away by the difference. A closer shave with little to no irritation. I used to have a terrible time with shaving and breaking out. I started with an old Gillette I got from my father-in-law and just this past Saturday I picked up this razor/brush set from a buddy of mine who dabbles in restoring straight razors and turning DE handles and brushes.

Brush is boar bristle. Handles are made out of Palm wood. Best shave I've ever had.
