The official Boss Jack Proto pics thread!

NO GROOVE?!?!?!?! Reminds me of a hunting knife I bot from K-Mart back in the early 80's. (Maybe it was the mid-80's - too long ago.) In a fit of stupidity, I threw it away. Except for it not being convex-ground, it had the same danged bayonet-style blade shape and fuller. beat-blast finished. No choil either. This is like coming home to me. (I think I threw it away when I got married. ????)

Here is mine :)

Diagonal cut grooves inside a diagonal 'stripe' across the middle tube fastener, smooth micarta above & below.

Here ya go. :)

Thanks a bunch, that's what I needed to know. Now I realy want one! Just the right size, would be a great combo with the NMSFNO. Already got a spot on my LBE picked out for it.

Thats a great looking knife for sure, but i'm curious when or if the Le's and combat grades will hit the trough. Oh yeah i forgot two weeks probably.
Also i wonder how long it'll be before someone strips their Boss Jack for that satin look.

I know this is a old thread...
If anyone has a Boss Jack Proto, with a large choil, that they are willing to part with, I am interested!
Shoot me a message. Thanks

I dont want to sell mine, but I've had a chance to handle a proto and a regular boss jack. I got a buddy who has dibs on the proto. I'm guessing they were all bead blasted and black canvas?

From what I have seen you are correct.
I had a proto, without a choil, I think the fuller and choil is what makes this blade really catch my eye.

That is not quite correct, there were variants which were satin and coated along with choil/no-choil/small choil differences. Boss Jack is a classic, I've got a few stashed away which I'm considering selling but I know how hard they'll be to replace if I end up regretting it. The P&L Statement makes a pretty good replacement for this role for me so I'm thinking of rewilding the Jack's to collectors who are after them.
