The Official ESEE / Ethan Becker Kitchen Knives Thread

Gosh Tradewater, mere words cannot express how devastated I am to have rained on your parade. ;-) I hope you're kidding and that I didn't really introduce an idea which might cause a knife knut to discover yet another outlet for his addiction.

Your sincere apology is both touching and accepted. I feel much better now. Thank you. ;)

I think he was kidding. If not, he could just be drunk and looking for a fight. Moon's nearly full and that means the moonshine is cookin' at full capacity.
I've nearly gone down the rabbit hole of Japanese kitchen knives a time or two. One day maybe.
Honestly, I don't feel like guarding them from my wife, who would chip them in a heartbeat. She prefers the dishwasher to hand washing just about anything.

Now, back to the regularly scheduled thread...

Ah yes...the rest of the family...the bane of those with kitchen knives they actually care about. <g. Sorry about the thread. I thought having a genuine interest was excuse enough to interrupt the thread with a question about the knives being discussed.

Ethan's kitchen knives do a number on a finger too. just sayin'.

y'all speak up, i'll show you one surgically clean cut :D

also that said, man, some of those pictures are awfully low-rez. i wanna see 30 giga-pixels :D

Mine aren't going to prepare any deliciousness until after I give them away at Christmas.
But I enjoyed some chocolate pudding and the last of my JW Black as I unboxed 'em! :)

I have a full Henckels set, as well as a Miyabe chef's/gyuto in German stainless and a Masamoto petty in Hitachi carbon - so I really have no room for a set for myself.
I am fortunate that my wife likes the German knives, and thinks the Japanese ones are "too sharp" - so she doesn't mess with them much.

Beautiful pieces! And made in a great steel for for applications in the kitchen...

....and not to be repetitive, since I started a thread on the $44.95 deal for this outstanding Becker Kitchen Knife set, I say again, crawl out from under your rock and get yours for less than the price of a BK-24 from Knifeworks.

I've been looking for a new set of kitchen knives and this might just be the ones I get! I was leaning towards Victorinox but these are very tempting.
