OK, here's how I saw it:
Remember UB's line on " What has this to do with Khukuris? Everything! "
UB has also expressed to me that he wants the forum to stay a "haven".
Now, how that works, has worked in the past is we allow off topic discussion if it is a situation close to the heart. Religion, Politics, you name it.
Hollowdweller indicated he felt politics should be kept out of the forum. I told him we weren't going to change present policy. As a result he ( perhaps using reverse psychology ) began posting strictly political topics. One after another, after another. This deliberate action on his part constituted trolling.
He was therefore banned on 7/6/04. He will be unbanned on 8/6/04, should I not hear from him before then. UB has told Hollow he should do this, but HD has not yet done so.
Without him saying he understands the reason why he was bannned, and a promise not to do so in the future, I don't feel I can reinstate him earlier than I've said.
I am unaware of any other forum on this board which will automatically reinstate someone who has been banned without a promise from them to desist from the behaviour that got them banned.

I will repeat this once more: we allow political or religious or other matters that disturb the hearts of forumites. Such posts will be treated respectfully. However, those posts that tend to breed discord or are argumentative, whether deliberate or unintended, will be pruned.
