I wish I had been able to keep them all but I am down to the ebony Champlin and the Mike's white bone SFO. Probably my favorite GEC pattern with the 66 a close second.

I'm not a fan of the EO cutouts or of the bulbous spear blade (although they look great!), but I do have a nice stag #85 with clip & pen.

 "Roger that Tower...the pattern is full of ebony, repeat, the pattern is full of ebony".... :D

affirmative!
that was pretty good, i like that

gotta say though, Black Mamba's 85 with stag and long nail nick is pretty much the bee's knee's right there isnt it :D

Teardrop-pattern (TD) knives are great, an old and venerable pattern, as Duncan has suggested!
This one turned my HJ-obsessed head at an Easton, PA knife show a few years ago. Robeson did Teardrops very well, back in the day. (They also made them for Globe cutlery, BTW!)
I have seen at least a dozen Robeson TD HJs, but none quite like this one! Its condition, the super jigging, and the Belt Punch shield (very rare) make it one of the nicest HJs I have collected!

Yup, some real beauties old and new.

Charlie - The jigging on that Robeson is outstanding, it's almost cloven. Boy did they know how to do it back then.

I heard they herded goats across the bone at a rapid pace to get that unique texture, Thom.
Probably on a steep slope . . . . . . . .

They did know how to do it!!

Schrade did some nice ones in the 20s-30s, both Spear-bladed,

and Clip!

Thanks, Charlie!! I was not quite sure so I appreciate your opinion! Those Schrades are the cats meow!! I better go take some more blood pressure meds...lol

Case made some nice ones also, before and after WW I.

Love that exposed set of pins on that Case shield...how much more would a knife cost with pinned shields; a dollar maybe?:(

Great thread. The Teardrop jack is definitely one of my favorite patterns. Sorry, nothing old in my little family of pocket knives, but I love the #85. Here's mine, an EO in African Blackwood.

Very nice picture. I love the 85's with dark covers and brass liners. I also like the EZ open cutout and cloud shield.
