Very good read. Made me miss my Dad a lot. We were good friends. I could never convert him to other knives. When we cleaning out the house, I found knives I'd given him as gifts in his dresser, still NIB. He always just carried one of those small, like the 2 3/4" closed sized, Buck or Old Timer stockman. I recall the Old Timers blades were dark grey already. He'd sit in his recliner with his foot across his knee stropping the blades on his leather work boot. Seen him doing that so often I can still visualize it. His knife was always like a scalpel.

Thanks for bringing up some good memories. Needed it today.
