The Old Rugged Victorinox Cross..... Pioneer content, grails and such.... Red Gold...

I have to confess that I had to look up sesquipedalian to really get the full effect of the joke. I knew what pulchritude and pulchritudinous meant from high school Latin classes over 45 years ago, and I knew what sesquicentennial meant, but couldn't figure out sesquipedalian on my own.

Hey, I think I dated Polly Syllabic a couple of times back in the day. :D She was very popular!

And speaking of popular, to steer this back to Alox SAKs, does anyone have a Vic Popular? I was looking at the SAKwiki page (I think) and ran across this model. If I understand correctly, the Popular is like today's Secretary, but with textured red Alox instead of smooth silver Alox. I'm thinking of picking up a "bare bones" 2-blade SAK, and my preference would be to get a Popular, a Secretary, or a Pocket Pal, in that order. But I don't know how realistic it is to set my heart on finding a Popular. Anyone have advice? Thanks!

I dated her first...she wasn't polysyllabic, she was a Cro-Magnon with a speech impediment, like in stutter.:D

The red floozy is here!

I was just doing some "market research" sitting' on the dock of the 'Bay, and you've got a great knife at a GREAT price.:D

Thank you Paul! It was carried some but used very little...don't think it was ever sharpened.

Here's my very modest accumulation. (If SAK Guy is the 1%, I'm one of the 99%. I vote we stage an Occupy SAK Guy's Collection soon.)

Old cross Pioneer (brass liners), Alox Solo, 1970s Elinox Duo, red Secretary.

Solo and Duo. Duo rapidly approaching its Wharnecliffe years. Small blade was modified from its original clip point because the blade corner stuck up from the handle.
Solo has a lanyard hole because it's better that way, and because I'm an incorrigible and unrepentant serial knife modifier. (This may be the only SAK where this is possible, except for the Electrician Solo.)

Al, that's a stunning B&W photo you posted this morning!! But I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at
Is that a black Farmer with the old cross, or am I just being fooled by your photographic slight-of-hand?
And what's that little fish thingy riding on it's back?

iSaur, I enjoyed the photo of the red Secretary! Thanks again for the feedback about Pocket Pal and Secretary in the multitool subforum.

It's a customized Swiss Bianco old cross Farmer with a fire steel attachment. This is a custom model, in that it not and never was a factory product.
