The Once and Future L'il Temperance

Please keep the name! Love the name! Make it Lil' T II. Wanna stick with the Lil' T as my favorite knife.

I loved my Lil Temp but the finger groove didn't fit my hand right so I sold it.
The changes described to go to a 3 inch blade, a gray color, and "melted" ergonomics would make a Lil T very attractive to me.

I'm just waiting for the s30v blades. Mebbe I can swap out my 440v blade at that point. I live in constant terror of having to sharpen the 440v with my standard sharpmaker. To even touch it up seems to take forever. But, I know they are on their way.

Otherwise, I have only 2 issues with it is: most of the time I manage to pinch part of my palm or index finger while opening the knife...in the compression lock area. Could be my fault, as it does seem to be less often now.

:the smoother g10 could almost stand to be rougher. i don't feel all the confident about the grip it gives, especially while attempting to hold my hand off at opening, to not pinch myself.

Hi Blackwatch. We've refined the compression lock a number of times while we sneak up on eliminating the pinch. The Paramilitary and ATR are the latest renditions. The pinch has for the most part been eliminated. It shows the importance of minor adjustments in the "form" or the design.

The Lil' Temperance as it is currently being made will not be continued in the 2005 line-up.

The new molded version is still in development so there weill more than likely be an interruption in the production of the model until the "2" veresion is ready.

so..it's not just my meaty hands!!! glad to hear of the minor tweaks and such.

now. i just have to figure out how to sharpen this bad boy properly!! hehe

Mr. Glesser,

One and te same question over the time: why is the lil' temperence, yojimbo, vesuvius et al compression lock inversed? I'm fairly well adapted to the compression lock on my Gunting, but I can't stand the other ones. Once more, what are the reasons to go the other way?

take care

TJ

Is the new version going to use the newer style of pivot screw?

Guys have complained on the forum that the new pivot screw is difficult or impossible to tighten suffiently to render the knife impossible to flick opened. The ability to over-tighten the pivot screw is critical to those of us who carry in NYC.

I have an earlier model with the 440V blade. Tough as all get out, but not too happy with the 440V blade.

I would be intrested in the "new" design and the S30V blade. Would like a "thinner" grind on the cutting edge, like the Para. Gray is a great color for me, makes me think of the Calypso Jr. Please change the clip!

So if I got this right; 1. Under 3" blade. 2. Blade S30V. 3. Only slight change in overall design. 4. Gray G-10. 5. Somewhere in the distant future.

Hello Lil' Temperance fans. I have one big question for all of you. Is the lil' Temperance significantly better with the S30V blade steel. I have heard that the 440V was not all that bad. Are there any of you that have used both blade steels in the Lil' Temperance. My personal contact is joedot@swbell.net if your answer is very long. I have a chance to get one in 440v for much less money is the reason I ask. :)
