OK guys & gals,I've gotten a couple of great items(love the sling, key fob & Case folder CK!)so I'm adding a nice(to me)fixed blade since they seem to be in demand.
My problem is that I am unemployed & blew my wad shipping out the items that were claimed from me so far,
so I hate to say, whoever gets dibs on this one will need to pay shipping..sorry:o
My hobby, when I had a place to work on 'em was to put handles on knife blanks that I bought from makers here on BF.(or used to be here in Landi's case)

Anyhoo,I've had this Landi up for sale for a while & haven't gotten any takers so what the hay,I'll give it away.:)

I would like it to go to someone that doesn't have a good hard use fixed blade knife.(or the means to acquire one)

I copied & pasted the pertinent info from the sale thread so ya'll can see the warts before calling dibs....

This is a John Landi Multi Purpose Medium blade that I put scales on.
I had it up for sale before, but have since made a sheath & blued it.
It is 5/32" thick 1095.
OAL is 9 11/16" with a 5 1/16" blade with convexed edge.Perfect size for a camp knife.
I forced a patina with ketchup on the blade, but didn't like the look I got so I cold blued the blade, spine & tang for a subdued look.
There are some random pits from the ketchup etching & scratches from the sheath, but nothing bothersome that'll affect performance.
The scales are 1/8" od green micarta over 1/8" lime green liners held on with G Flex epoxy & 1/4" brass pins & tube making for a very secure & comfortable handle with no hot spots.
The sheath is from a Scrap Yard Knife Co. Dumpester Mut I reheated & shaped for this Landi.
It had 3/16" holes for Chicago Screws & I drilled them out for 1/4 rivets & added a couple more at Tek-Lok spacing so it can be carried on a belt.Sorry,tek-lok not included.
I smashed the back of the bottom 2 rivets & split the second down from the top(see the pic)but they hold just fine & are hidden in use.
I know from experience that trying to replace them just messes up the holes & surrounding area so I left them. :o
The knife locks in with a good snap for great retention.

too slow

And have no problem paying shipping! Please PM me about getting the shipping cost figured out.

Thx.

Well, I am truly blessed and excited. They Barkie STS-4 arrived here today. It is really amazing, I love the thin scales, it fits my hand perfectly.

First pic shows as arrived. I could not resist though, I had to go ahead and touch up the blade a bit. It did not take much to get it back to typical Barkie sharp and then some. I like most any type edge, but Convex have to be the easiest to sharpen and repair. I decided to leave just a bit of aesthetic "ding" to remind me this IS a user and it will be treated as such, not a safe queen. Functionally it feathers a phonebook page silently with no snag. The sheath is amazing, so much thought and skill in the construction and functionally, it shows. But enough of that, on with the pics.

I do apologize for the furry pics, my camera does not have the same depth perception I do.......

Tom, Man.....what can I say....Other than I appreciate this wonderful gift, it really is great. I will post some more user pics, especially once deer season gets rolling.

If you need that ding sharpened out let me know, I dunno if i can keep a zero grind on it , but I'll be more than happy to put it on the edge pro for you free of charge of course.

Thanks for the offer, It didn't take long at all to get the "functional" ding out of it with it my 1" X 30" belt sander. It is down to "aesthetics" now. I prefer to keep it as a reminder. By the time it gets sharpened out, it will have quite a few more from my use. I was able to keep the convex edge also, easier to maintain in the field.

Simple Man, enjoy it!!!! It is clearly in a better home than i could give it ;)

I gotta know though, what did you drop it against to ding it that well? Musta been from some distance? PM is fine ;)

I'll admit, I did the same to my one and only other Barkie, a Clip Point Skinner with what was a razor/needle point, right up until I dropped it tip first in a tile floor.
It sharpened out also, took me several tries, and still not quite to what it was....oh well.

Damn, even when I am the first to reply, I get beat out. That fricken' really sucks!
Hey Mike relax,I just re-read the rules put down by Jimh in the OP & it states the first post gets dibs,so I'll stick to that since NYO sent a PM instead of posting here.
I apologize for the confusion.PM inbound.

Yup, that's usually how it works. Otherwise people would just PM everyone asking for stuff.

I should read before posting lol, I thought you were showing her off, didn't even look at the edge, nice job! 154cm is super fun to sharpen

There was an incident. It involved me, the barkie, a wet handle, gravity, poor judgement, and a substance that is apparently much harder than 154cm steel.

We will never speak of the "incident" again ;)

Hey, no problem, I am relaxed. Just got alittle bummed but its okay. It wasnt meant to be any whinning or being upset at anyone so I hope no one took it that way! This thread is just a great idea and I enjoy seeing items come and go. :D

Very well, I know when to leave sleeping dogs lay. Never poke a sleeping dog.....

It is a beauty and I love it already. It has a permanent home. Thanks
