The one dispatch I never wanted to get...I got.

Wow Ken,
Very glad your brother is OK- That has to be one of the worst feelings ever.
Good on you & your brother for what you do day after day.

Glad your brothers Okay, Its scary to go on a call when its someone you know, I can't imagine it being My brother.

I Agree with everyone who said Family First, and anyone in uniform is family.

Ken,

I am so happy for your entire family that you brother is going to be up and about and back at work next week. We all know it could have been much worse.

What would be worse - getting the dispatch and knowing it was a family member involved, or arriving on the scene a you did, seeing the police vehicle, and then hearing your brother's name? I bet that had the driver's door been smashed closed you would not have needed the jaws of life to rip it off. Your adrenelin would have been rushing through you so hard and fast your strength would have been superhuman.

As has been already said, the best medicine for your brother was the surprise and relief to see your face opening his door.

If he a younger or older brother?

What are the odds that you would take the call and respond to your brother's accident? While your family and his wife would have been upset to receive the call from you, they had to be reassured that "Ken is there and making sure everything is being taken care of."

Glad for the happy ending, Ken.

TJ

That was a totally messed up call to run, I'm sure your brother was relieved to hear your voice at the scene.

It looks like that stuff on the front of the cruiser should buff right out.

ken, glad your brother is ok.

go share a very cold adult beverage with him and then take the family out to celebrate family ties
