The 'One Knife You Never Use' Concept?

Thanks for that; I can only "no spin" with confidence to about 6m, and medium rubbish at spin throwing. Suppose I'd be toast.:D

I will support the idea of a pristine functional blade to use in a last resort scenario. I personally would make sure I was very familiar and comfortable with the chosen knife. In a perfect world it would be a copy of your edc, or another long-time favorite. I have a Fallkniven S1 in a backpack in my trunk, another lives on my belt while woodsing. I feel good knowing it's there while zooming around the city. As you all know too well "2 is 1 and 1 is none" A backup can't hurt anything but your pocketbook.

Yes. I keep a Victorinox Classic SD in an Altoids tin mini-first-aid-kit along with band-aids, gauze pads, butterfly closures, adhesive tape, Neosporin, and alcohol wipes. It is relegated to being a FAK tool in case I ever need the tweezers, scissors, or blade to go along with the other supplies. I've used the kit a few times but never needed the knife.

If its a knife I wont use I don't carry it. And It usually gets sold when I am bored with looking at it.

Some days it's just my keychain SAK but usually a modern folder and a SAK. But if I'm at Camp or a weekend car camping I'll put a knife in every pocket, my belt, & around my neck and use them all.

I have a friend who's father was is a retired police officer. When we were kids (and he was still working in narcotics) he did a lot of UC buys and stuff. His advice was something like "Always have three knives; one you use as a tool, one you use as a backup (for fighting,) and one no one ever knows about."
