The one that got away...

This one.

Queen Copperhead in Curly Zebra that I had reground into an incredible slicer. Just sold recently and it together with a couple of other knives sold at the same time paid for my kids to have new coats for the winter. Now that Queen is shutting its doors I wish I'd been able to find a way to hold on to it.

A 1942, broad arrow, GR marked Fairbairn dagger in the white with original sheath.

I had one of these for a great price, then sold it in anticipation of a two bladed 77 barlow. I realized that I actually preferred the end caps and clip point/pen on this knife better than the clip point/coping of the 77 barlow. I just saw one of these today and was reminded. I put a bid in on it, but I have to go low because I really ought to be saving and selling rather than buying. Maybe I'll get lucky, or maybe it is meant to be that I not retrieve this beauty.

Ancient Kauri Wood 57 Whittler - this one was a gift, and I don’t know what got into my head for me to sell it.

A couple grinlings and a Dixie Stockman sting, but that 57 is the one that keeps me up at night. I’d do terrible things to get it back.

I ended up getting outbid, but I contacted the person I sold the knife to, just to see if he was using it and he offered to sell it back at the same price as I sold it to him! One more reason to love the porch.

Thanks for sharing that "happy ending" story, Joshua. Enjoy that prodigal Yankee Jack!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

I sold a GEC 25 with clip point blade in ebony several years ago and have wanted it back ever since. One day I will find one and snatch it up

Had a really nice modified Queen Sodbuster JR with wood scales it a fit of annoyance with my poor D2 sharpening skills I moved it on - shame as I solved that issue not long after

Gave away a CASE Swayback Jack in Chestnut Bone and CV. The person I gave it to is no longer active here & I don't think he was taken with it. I didn't mind, choices are always personal and being a CASE knife I assumed it would always be available in the future. Serious error there as they are really hard to come by now! So yes, I regret that one, a bit :D

I’ve yet to sell a knife. I don’t regret any of the ones I’ve given away as they went to good homes. I do however regret not buying one here or there that I could have. I found GEC (and the Northwoods by them) shortly before they started flying off the shelves as fast as they’re made. There were a few that were available that I would now love to own, but I was still new to the game and hadn’t figured out exactly what would fit my needs and what I liked the best yet. But as someone mentioned, new patterns come up that will tick the same or more boxes, also they do eventually get back to the patterns I missed so the pocket book hopefully gets some time to recover, lol!

I miss all my GEC #48s (had four of them). I absolutely love the pattern but they are just a little too long for me to carry comfortably. But I miss having one around to admire and just to cut stuff with. They were excellent cheese and sausage cutters. That's why I'm so hopeful that some day GEC will make a 3-1/2" mini trapper version. It would be perfection in my book.

I regret selling a lot of knives but this one haunts me in my sleep. Furthest to the right, the single blade 85 in stag.

Bought and sold it twice....one if the very first GEC knives I purchased. The jigged bone JBF was pretty special to, but I've never seen another stag single blade 85 again.

If anyone currently owns this knife...send me a PM...I'll pay handsomely.
