• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

These are the two I was finishing when I got cut up.

Both are ground in a continuous taper from 3/32" CPM D2. HT & cryo by me to 61 Rc. Both have my new mark with a year date (I decided to incorporate the year to give them a pedigree of sorts).

These two were variations on a theme, I wanted to try out different ways of combining similar materials. The first is handled with box elder burl inset into a black paper micarta frame. The second is box elder scales laminated to 1/8" thick black G10. Both feature 1/4" stainless corby bolts with satin flats and polished spines.

The laminated G10 version is the one the bit me. Still don't know what I'm gonna do with it yet (sell it, keep it, or melt it down into scrap).

Have a good one,

Nathan

The one with the inset handle is going to a friend for "testing". This is the first one I've ever done like this, so I need to make sure it will hold up before I sell any like this.

The other one will be going up for sale, being as I'll be on a severely reduced income for a bit, I don't really have much choice. Somebody actually told me to charge double for it as it has already been "tested". I'll probably end up charging the same.

have a good one,

Nathan

If you had to get bit by a knife, you sure picked a good one. Both are beautiful.
I hope you heal quickly and totally.

Protourist, I think your sig pretty much says it all lol! One moment of dullness, doing something I had done a thousand times before, and here I am - sitting on the couch typing one-handed.

Complacent inattention = disaster

Have a good one,

Nathan

I take it the surgery went well?
I certainly hope so.

I thought you were going to post pics of the injury, not a bunch of icky sharp knives!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Hope you heal up quick. I was in a cast 8 weeks when I nearly severed my thumb. I severed the nerves in addition to the tendon. It sucked not being able to move the thumb and I wasn't allowed to make any knives!!!!! It took another 6 weeks to get good movement back. 4 years later I have about 95% movement and some feeling but the feeling isn't normal. Buffers are evil, evil devices.
