Many thanks to Blues for the custom sowbelly thread, but I believe production "pork" has its place as well. Please post photos of your production sowbellies, along with any helpful info.

Top row, left to right: Remington in abalone, Rough Rider in burnt stag
Center: Rough Rider in brown sawcut bone
Bottom row, left to right: Owl Head in ram's horn, Owl Head in cracked ice acrylic

The bottom two Owl Heads are 4-1/8" closed, the other three are all 3-3/4", and all are imported, but good quality.

Jeff, please don't imply or infer that I don't have a special place in my heart and collection for production slipjoints.

I started the other thread so as to avoid hijacking threads belonging to other members.

(Just as I would do out of respect for the many GEC, Northwoods or other production company threads without denigrating them.)

Elliott, nothing of the sort. I just like the pattern and wanted a place for the production models to show. As mine are all newer and imported, I'm hopeful that you and others could post some different production models (American made, German, etc.) to ogle at.

BRING ON THOSE PHOTOS !!!

Here's one based (to the best of my knowledge) on an old John Primble "Texas Jack" pattern:

Elliott, that looks a lot like some of the late '90's Winchester bone-- same maker?

Other than a vintage Winchester the only other Winchesters (Blue Grass Cutlery) I have are from 1988. The Moore Maker is from 2001.

However, since they're probably each made by Queen I shouldn't be too surprised. (The bone is a lot different than on the 1988 Winchesters.)

Thanks, Bro, I thought it was probably Queen, too. Good lookin' bone!

When you bought this knife brand new back in 1983, this is what it looked like.

That is sweet , the bone has that pocket worn look. I love the blades , two of the most useful styles one could have on any knife.

And yeap , Greg that knife you have pictured is pretty darn sweet too :)

Thanks for sharing.

beautiful knives in this thread
heres mine 2001 Vintage bone Case Sowbelly...it's like a porky stockman, and to my hand one of the more comfortable patterns my only gripe is they dont have one in CV... really never thought i'd take to the pattern, but i did:D
cheers

ps this one is vampiric too, got me good while slicing an onion, wicked cut on my left pointer finger, got a scar to remind me to pay attention next time:D

Here is a Case in Black Bone that I had for a short time. I wish I had held on to it :(

I also have a Rough Rider in their Gunstock Bone. The "lines" in the bolsters are not lined up with the scale end very well, but it is put together pretty well, and SHARP!

Hi,

Wow, that 5 blade must be a chunk in the hand. But I do like the selection of blades in it. And I like the bone.

And Greg, that Cripple Creek is a fine one to see!

whole bunch of pocket angels --love them all but that tan bone by blues is too much. gots to be apricot jam-- whatever its some teriffic jelly bone. would buy every model in that bone if gec could copy it. makes me salivate more than bullfrog legs. thanks to everyone for all that divinity.

Dang, son, but you have a way with words. :p

I think you can still find that tan jigged bone on the net, Dennis, if you're of a mind to. I have one other in that bone but it's an "even-end" trapper (according to the Moore Maker nomenclature).

Thanks for those good words.

As I just recently got in a couple of Case sowbellies, I am resurrecting this thread.
It's been over two years since the last post, so there should be some new material out there to add besides mine.

Note, the Rancher has the sheepfoot nick on the mark side, otherwise the same pattern.
