:grumpy: I don't know where it happened, but somewhere I lost my favorite EDC, a original Camillus Heat. I almost feel like I lost an appendage. I keep hoping I'll find it, but I know it slipped from my pocket somehow. I had a lot of memories with that baby. It was a great knife. I only hope that whoever has her now treats her right. :(

i know what you mean, i lost the ultimate, "one knife" EDC that i had for a while, a whittler with a secondary clip blade instead of a pen. it was made by western way back when, and it is the only one i have ever seen.

oh well, i am happy with its replacement, perhaps even moreso.

hope you can find an EDC that will serve you as well and as faithfully

The thought of losing my EDC makes me sick cause it was a gift from my wife before we got married.

Yep, did it once several years ago. I definitely know the feeling ya get in the pit of your stomach. I feel for ya.

I feel your pain, to a degree. Earlier this week I lost my Native somewhere while at work...I loved that little knife with the exception of the lousy pocket clip design (partially why it was finally lost for good).

Well, I'm seriously thinking about just replacing it with an Opinel or something. I have a CRKT Prowler that is my secondary, but I don't want to go through loosing that too.

I thought I lost my primary EDC folder, a spyderco scorpius, a few weeks ago, but then as I was cleaning out my car the other day I found it. I had already gone through alot of greiving, and had replaced it with a spyderco salt 1, but I was still ecstatic that I found it.

ejes, i find that even with something as basic as an opinel, if you use it alot and come to trust it, you can have a hard time losing that kind of thing too...

opinels are great knives though!

I have lost a knife that I loved before. Hope you find something that you like just as well.

I hear ya Simon; so, so true. My Heat only cost me $30, so it was not about the money, function or anything like that. It was all the memories.

Ah well, I have to look on the bright side. Auditioning knives for EDC will sort of be like the best part of having babies - making them. :p

Sorry you lost your EDC.

That kind of thing drives me nuts and turns me obsessive in looking for it.

Hope you find it or something you like for replacing it.

Not to hijack, but I never hear people talk about Opinels very much but I've eyed them before.

I know the pain, and now in 2 ways. this past deer season my little one lost his EDC, his Byrd Meadowlark. He was sick about it, and my heart hurt for him. He loved that knife like only a little boy can. Christmas is slim, but hopefully I can get him a replacement for his b-day in Feb. Losing a knife is the PITS!!!

I thought I lost my Victorinox huntsman on the King and Queens seat in Rocks State Park, a couple weeks ago. Leaves covering everything. Found it at home, it had fallen out of my pocket. Knock on wood on that one.

Years ago I lost my first SAK (Vic Recruit).
About 2 or 3 years later my parents were rearranging the layout of their living room furniture.
Me and my brother-in-law were moving their couch for them when i heard a "clunk"!
There on the hardwood was my little red recruit!
Woohoo!

sooooo...... check your couch/loveseat/chairs!
:D

I know how you feel. I posted a thread in the Kershaw forum a few days ago when I lost my Spec Bump. I lost it somewhere in the snow, hopefully someone picked it up and will take care of it. I hate to think the snow plow got to it and it'll turn up rusted and busted in the spring. It really sucks losing your favorite EDC. People who don't carry knives daily can't comprehend the relationship you have with them. They are more than mere tools. You have my sympathies, brother.
