A local big-Buck sporting goods dealer has a stack of the 336 Avids on the counter - next to the half-priced Benchmade Red Box leftovers. That rotating bolster seems gimmicky - perhaps not long-life inspiring in it's operation. Sorry, my wait for the Pro is officially over. It would take more than S30V alone to convince me to buy the Paradigm Pro now. The Avid was ~$124 there.
It was a downer of a day - they also had the Boker big dollar 'Haddock' - a $270 MSRP knife. QC was poor - the execution of this knife was sub-par, IMHO. My recently (2 mos) purchased new Benchmade 755MPR is far better executed, by comparison - a better buy by far. I went home happy to have what was in my pockets - thatBM 755 MPR and... my Buck CS 110 of BG-42, NS bolsters, and jigged WB scales. I've had it a while - but it was considerably less denaros then, too, than that Hammond - or, likely, the Paradigm Pro will be. What quality, too - a great value. I guess times change.
I remember a seemingly then very long wait several years back for the Kalinga Pro's (408 & 419). In retrospect, they were bargains - the wait was minimal. Keepers, too! Good thing, too, as they've been canned.
