so ive started the knives. Cassie came with me to the shop today and took some pics

the first part of the day i was working on a guard for a bowie

then all hell broke loose

it only took me 2 hours to locate another set of step pullys but then i had to refab the motor mount. the new pullys are bigger than the last set

and back to work

thats all for today

Is that your thinking chair; I've got one in my shop and it fits my butt perfectly. Seems if I'm comfortable, I think better.

See you at Johnstown buddy.

Lon,

Been rooting for you since watching your vid of rope cuts (back cuts) with the clip of the blade. :)

Best of luck on the knives for JS.
Make them simple and CLEAN.

Good luck on your presentation Lon, oh and take a sandwich for the judging , you'll have lots of time to eat it.

after having a kid with bronchitis and no work for 4 days here i am at the end of today ready to be hand sanded. I haven't decided if i want to do a spacer of some kind or not

Good looking knife, Lon.

Looking forward to hearing more about your Journeyman project.

Interesting to see pics of the new shop.

Good thing you got the machinery up and running again.

The one video, I have seen of Lon cutting thick rope using a 'back cut' with the sharpened clip of a knife, was when he agreed to make me a Bowie.

Its this one - a knife I treasure very much. Not only does it cut rope and look fantastic doing it - Im using it to go hog hunting and it performs even better than it looks (and that saying something). You can hear oinkers squealing for miles, when they see that knife, LOL (okay, slight exaggeration!).

Who knows, maybe when Lon has finished with the current projects, he will have time to make me another knife (hint, hint:D)

Hey Lon,
Best of luck!!! Keep this thread going. Enjoy watching your progress, seeing the challenges along the way and the end product.

thanks guys there have been many challenges to over come within the last few weeks it always seems spring is the most hectic time of the year

here is a small drop point hunter that i think Larry Bailey might like even if he wouldn't admit it LOL
