Makes you wonder what aviators were stowing away in the 'floataxes' of their E kit. In the event of an emergency imbibe contents to ensure implement is ready to receive ballast.
 
300Six, that's exactly what I was thinking. How much bourbon could I fit in a floataxe. I think I owe it to the axe community to find out........ :D

Absolutely! Back in my foolish youth on wilderness canoe trips we used to pack 'overproof' Demerara rum (I think it was 150 proof) as a water purifier. A 40 ouncer would go a long ways, and out of a flotaxe probably give you a real lift if you mistakenly got into it all at once!
