...would be a Caly3 with textured carbon fiber and an S90V blade. Any chance of that happening? Just wondering and thanks in advance if so.

That would be a pretty ideal knife for most people i think, very doubtful it will happen though. I wish spyderco took special orders. I would pay through my nose and/or eyes to get some custom-production models made.

I think your perfect knife will be challenging because the Caly 3 is manufactured in Japan, and CPM S90V is a USA steel. It certainly can't hurt to ask though. :)

I like the CF Caly 3 just the way it is. I love matte-finish CF and ZDP-189 is to die for. :p

I have to agree here. I love the edge properties of ZDP-189 and am fine with the smooth CF since the way the knife fits into my hand doesn't make super grippy handle too important too me. An M4 Caly 3 CF would be sweet, though.

I believe the Caly 3 is made in Japan due to the steel they are using right now. ZDP-189 and VG-10 are both Japanese steels as far as a I know. If a Caly 3 was made of S90V I'm pretty sure it would be USA made.

I'm not 100% on this, but pretty sure.

I like the G-10 caly 3 it is one of my fave knifes , Actually i love the size and blade shape, frn might make it lighter, and in anything but ZDP.

I'd love to see a Caly made here also. Don't know about S90V, though. With the CPM bankruptcy and probable close of the company in August, we may not be seeing many knives made anywhere using CPM steels.

A Caly3 made in Gloden would be awesome. I'd buy a few. It would be like a baby Manix.

Caly3 CF ZDP is pretty awesome, finds its way into my pocket more often than most of my knives :)
