I found the perfect occasion for my special occasion knife! My wife gave a beautiful, engraved Case mini trapper that I carry on special occasions. I have had it with me for the past couple days as she gave me an even more beautiful Christmas gift on the 20th, our first child!!!

He is a happy, healthy baby boy and the only photo prop that can make my Case look shabby by comparison. 😁🥳 Soon we will get to leave the hospital and take him home so I can pick out his future first knife lol.

Lets all celebrate! What is your favorite Special Occasion knife and what is your best memory of it?

Mazel Tov! Congratulations on your new family member.

I second the advice to get sleep whenever you can. Maybe you will be lucky and your boy will sleep well (my boy did as a baby, but none of my girls did).

I'll also offer the piece of advice I wish I had: Don't worry about the belly-button. It's fine. Yes it is stinky and unsightly, but it will be fine.

My favorite special occasion knife is my favorite everyday traditional. If I'm only carrying one low profile knife, it's probably going to be my 2015 forum knife.

Congrats to you and your wife on the birth of your first child, on Dec. 20th!:cool::cool::thumbsup:
(I feel a sort of affinity for the kid, since I was a first (of 7) child, born on Dec. 19th. 🤓)
Congrats, too, on your recent completion of a masters in wildlife management (that I read about in the recent 5-day challenge GAW). You should be well-prepared for parenthood, since there will be plenty of times when you feel like raising kids is a matter of wildlife management! 😁

I don't really have a special occasions knife, but I do carry a knife every day that commemorates a special occasion. When I retired from my job as a member of the math & stat faculty at a medium-sized college, I bought this SAK with part of a gift card my colleagues gave me. I can't imagine having a better job than the one I had!

First off, Congratulations!

Here’s my special occasion knife. Functionally, it’s perfect for momentous events. Slim, classy, lightweight, yet still has great useful blades on it.

What really makes this one special to me is that O.W.L. are the first letters of my three kids’ names. So as you can guess, owls have some meaning to my family.

Brings me to my next point, advice on raising kids. Never turn down any help that gets offered. Someone wants to bring you a cooked dinner? YES! Family wants to give you a few hours down time while they babysit? YES! Get an offer for someone else to change a diaper? YES! Don’t get prideful, they want to help you because they care. You’ll do great, enjoy these first few days together.

Congratulations, and don't forget to give him birthday and Christmas presents. Babies born this time of year frequently get gypped.
My favorite special occasion knife was this Viper Key. Was, because my favorite memory of it was when I gave it to my son in-law.
