Not an entry!!!

Hey, I was in Boston also, I did not see you.

I would have bought you a slice of pizza (it is Boston for G-d's sake!!!)

So a story about these knives. Let's start with the Delica. The Delica 4 has become my all time favorite knife ever. I've sold sage 2s, pinnacle 750s, domino's and mini grips.

BUT when I first got into knives not so long ago and looking at the top 50 budget under $100 knives... I've owned maybe 40 of them btw at this point as I went into a compulsive buying spree every week going through different brands.

Spyderco wasn't part of that. I hated the hole. I hated lockbacks. Now I love the hole and I love lockbacks for how thin it allows a knife to be. And I love the hole for how easy and controllable it opens up a blade one handed.

I need one handed opening... I don't need lightning quick deployment. In my newbie know it all way I was poo pooing on the Delica and lockbacks until another forum member called me out. A few weeks later I was given a PIF. A beat up combo edge delica 3 and two sodbusters.

In using this beat to hell delica 3 it completely changed my perspective about the knife and lockbacks.

I'm now drawn to lockbacks more than I am to Ti Framelocks. I even picked up a dupe delica recently but sold it.

I didn't need it. Since I had two delicas I used the used one to carve and dig out a hole in a piece of pine that I am using to build a 7 foot Halloween sentinel decoration. Dug out four roughly drilled out holes and the delica still sliced paper after doing this with no chips. That's when I was completely sold on its ability.

I ended up giving away that PIF delica to another bf member who needed an edc.

Afterwards for about two months I regretted it when I realized that it's my favorite knife. And ended up getting this used one. I have reprofiled the blade. And wouldn't mind it going to someone who just might end up figuring out how perfect this seemingly budget knife is.

I've learned from this forum from guys like Pinnah who doesn't share the same philosophy as a lot of collectors on this forum. While I still love knives, buy and sell. I am learning that they need to be a tool first and foremost for me and a worrystone, trinket, new gadget, grail Second.

Do you guys have any stories about your favorite knives or how you found your way with appreciating knives? I'll add a post about the UKPK model and Cara Cara 2 later on as well!

Looks good.
I would have rounded off the top to make it a pseudo-sheep's foot just to make it more individual but still very practical.
Thanks for the chance, by the way
I was shooting for still having a tip but a stronger tip at that! It was a quick 5 minute job on a Chinese course sharpening stone that I picked up for $2 at the Chinese market!
