Mailman just dropped off a box that had MD Tactical as the sender. Opened the box with a big grin on my face. It has been a loooong time coming waiting for this knife and it's hard to believe it's finally here.
The 1st thing I did was open it and hold it in a saber grip to see how well this would work. I knew it was designed for pikal but wanted to see how it worked in the other more common grip. To my surprise it works quite well then the last time I held it at the Shot Show. This time I placed my thumb against the removable wave and my middle finger on the indent. Nice.
Next up the lock. opened and closed it a couple of times and man it's smooth. One way I have found in closing the blade is to pull the lock with my index fingure and thumb and give the knife a flick and it closes no problem. Also flicking the knife open isn't a problem but would be using the wave more then anything
Next up the handle. I think this is the 1st new Spyderco knife I have purchased that has G10. I have bought used Spyderco G10 knives in the past and man what a difference. This thing is like sandpaper. I guess I'll have to keep using it to eventually smoothen it out. I'd probably only wear this for now with jeans until it smoothens out cause it would be a disaster with Dockers.
All in all I can say that this is worth the wait. Kudos to Southnarc for his vision, Spyderco for their service to bring out a knife many people asked for and Eric from MD Tactical for giving us one heck of a deal and fast shipping. I'll take pics later and post more as I use it.
