The Plain Truth- Chris Reeve Large Sebenza's thruogh the years.

Thanks for the photo! It's interesting to see the subtle changes in the handle cutout for the thumb stud. On all the non-regulars, he experimented with the chamfering. I like how the 21 ended up, but I haven't used any of the others.

Thanks Dangerously!! yea as you can see the changes in the Sebenza other than what is probably most peoples favorite the "Regular" are very simple improvements, at least I think they were considered improvements by CRK.. The "NEW DESIGN" or Regular as we have come to call it was really radical when you compare it to its older and younger brothers.. Kind of like the 25 IMHO..

Great picture Zaan Man and I can actually say I have one that you don't. ;)

You have some fine stock there!

Thanks brother!! But you actually have three that I don't have!! The 25.. the Late Featured Sta-Tac and the Starbenza!! They are all on my list.. :D
All in good time..

It's also interesting to see the change in the blades over the years. My favorite will always be the large regular blade.

I like how you put them together in the same photo like the sizes you posted. It is the best way for me really see the subtle differences that have taken place over the years. Keep the education coming.

Very nice Brother!! Wow I would have thought that the blade on the Annuals would all be the same but it appears from your Photo (Awesome Photo BTW) that the 2011 which is got to be the ugliest wood ever IMHO!! has a profile more like the 21?? am I mistaken?? Educate me master!!
All the best, Dave

Thanks Birdhunter!! like you I am interested in all the subtle differences in this thing of ours. And the more I see the more I realize how much there is to learn!!
I wish I had started collecting these fine knives many years ago like our more experienced and knowledgeable friends!!
All the best, Dave

It's funny because looks can be deceiving, the 2011 that you see in the picture has one of the best grips of all the regular sebenzas (2nd to the LDC's). It is not the prettiest but you can get it wet and still have perfect control because of the grainy wood on the scales (it just sticks to your hand). Factor in the swedge on the blade and you have a very decent tactical/everyday user in one, I think it's the best of the lot if you exclude pretty.

I agree with you 110% Addicted!! Of course the CGG, Unique's and inlays are absolutely beautiful!! And the Damascus blade versions!! Forget About It!! but to me the plain finished Sebenzas are the best example of what CRK is all about!! A fine tool to be used!!

Plain and simple always can be a good look. Beauty in simplicity and the look of a tool made for use.

Thanks for putting this post up Dave, it really gives you an idea of Chris's Evolutionary Vision. Now we both need to get a 25 to see where we're finally at in this process of change

I am truly humbled Dino that you would make this comment!! As you know you are my mentor when it comes to this thing of ours!! I am constantly impressed by your knowledge and amazed by the quality and variety of your CRK collection!!
All the best brother!!
P.S. I have had three 25's but you know me Dino, I likes the old time stuff. :D

I agree. It's odd that as far as I can tell, from the few I've owned, the small Regular didn't share the same deeper belly.

Does that 2011 have a swedge? It's hard to tell from the angle the pic was taken. Ive always looked at a regular blade with a swedge as just another similar version of a 21 blade. That's what might be fooling you Mike on the blade shape.
