You are right (of course) lemmuhj..the 2011 does appear to have a swedge, I actually didn't even notice that!
But what I did notice and forgive my stupidity when it comes to termonagoly is the grind line or whatever you call it being farther back on the blade so it is partially obscured by the front portion of the handle (scale) perhaps that is because its a swedge? Man, the more I see the less I know! Of course we can write volumes of what I dont know about these knives!!

Does that 2011 have a swedge? It's hard to tell from the angle the pic was taken. Ive always looked at a regular blade with a swedge as just another similar version of a 21 blade. That's what might be fooling you Mike on the blade shape.
