so two days ago it got a package from the mailman. it was from bensbackwoods.com can anyone guess what i got from him? ill give you a cookie! ok well in case you cant, i got 4 things, i got a firesteele(my first), a western style sheath, my first mora(a 740), and...thats right you guessed it...AN ENZO!!! now let me say this. i have never had any of these items, firesttele, or scandi knives, so naturally i was very excited. i opened the box adn there it was. like magic to my eyes, two new knives, one to eb put together by me. man i just couldnt stop touching them. so i finally put them down and got to work on my enzo. now incase anyone was wondering, i do not have a grinder, or files. so i had to do this the hard way. i started by tightening the bolsters until they stripped out. i wanted them as tight as they could get since i decided not to epoxy the handle down. to grind down the bolsters i took them to the back of my combination stone. the coarse side. i just ground down the bolsters until they were jsut a hair above the handles. i did this to all four bolsters. after i got the bolsters down to a reasonable size, i took out the 150 grit sandpaper. i sanded down the remaining of the bolsters until they were even with the handles. after that i left it for the night. the nest day i went and picked up 150, 220, 350, and 600 grit sandpaper from home depot. i took the 150 and i sanded down all the sides untill they were even with the tang. this took probably about 1.5 hours. from there i went up each grit and polished the handles, all the way to600 grit sand paper. after i did that, i wiped the knife down and got a rag with tounge oil on it. i coated the handle, yes the birch handle, 3 times. then i let it dry over night. and now, well lets say the grain in the handles sticks out like a white person in asia does. the handle is smooth to the touch, yet offers great grip, even when wet. total time for the project, 2.5 hours. not a bad way to spend a day me thinks eh? and i gotta sya, i havent felt this proud in a while. even my mom and dad like it and want one. my dad especially. he is very impressed by how it came out. ok and i would like to say that both the mora and the enzo came razor sharp. they whittle wood like there is no other. the mora, while i was working on the enzo, i decided to give a vinager bath. i got a wet papoer towel and soaked it in the fluid, then let it sit. came out nice and dark. i like it alot if i do say so myself. i have some pics of both knives, but i have to post links for them and im too lazy to do that. if anyone wants to host them for me cool. or if you are really desperate, ill email them to you. and one alst thing. if you have been looking to get a scandi...GET THE ENZO!!! and the mora too, it is only $10

Very Nice! Man I like that Enzo, I'm going to have to pick one up. Great job on the handle profile as well. Looks Great!

Looks good! I'd like to get one of those Enzo's sometime. I think they're one of the better bargains in the 'scandi/bushcraft' arena right now.

[Edit- Forgot to mention: This isn't a knock because we're always happy to have anyone around for a chat, but it would really improve the readability of longer posts if you split them up into paragraphs! Thanks again for sharing your work. ]

good to hear you like those scandis...i think you just might have trouble keeping them off of your belt soon...

Looks great Bro, its a great knife isnt it?! Gene

ya i am really loving em. those scandis are rediculously sharp. i jsut cut myself even. adn making fuzz sticks is no longer very hard for me. i think i will always take one of the scandis with me whenever i go hike or camp, if not both. man i like my new collection already:D

ok ilbruche. the cookie is urs. it will just require a tip of 10.99 the cooki itself is free  a more knife would work too, same price and all:D

Got my Enzo kit in the mail yesterday. At first i didn't think it was sharp but then i did the cutting looseleaf paper test.
It dices paper effortlessly! And it made the hairs just fly off my forearm!
I'm thinking of cutting the panels a little long so they extend almost up to the beginning of the cutting edge.

sounds good theoliver. i thought the same thing when i got mine too, man was i wrong, especially when it bit me.

MAN MAN MAN nice knife for a fair price.
I think it's on my next BB's order!

can I cord wrap the knife efficently?
thanks
Max

yes everyone, go and buy one. this is my way of helping the economy, i buy one, then show you, then you buy one and show it, then others buy it...its a cascading effect that can single handedly bring the economy from teh brink of absolute chaos and colapse...or atleast that is how i justify buying it at the moment:jerkit:

Not to be nit-picky, and I'm not trying to be a dick, but what bolsters? I'm a little confused. Do you mean the corby rivets/bolts? For the handle scales?
- Thanks

yeah troop that is what i meant, corby/rivert. in my mind, same thing as bolsters. i like to condense similar things into one, sorry for the confusion.

No problem. Just so you know, a "bolster" is very different from a "bolt." Very nice job on your knife! Keep up the good work.
