The psychology of the blade shape.

I fail to see knives as weapons period. Even a knife used for self defence is a tool in my mind. Just because some idiot desides to stab his or her wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend/etc doesn't make all of of knife carriers evil. I feel the same way about guns. It's just idiots that give us and our tools bad names. I grew up that way though, my father was a cop for 30 years, been shooting since I was 4 or 5 years old, carrying knives since around then too. I guess I feel like the human using the tool is the weapon, not the tool, never the tool. I feel sorry for people who think otherwise, because either they were serious sheltered as a child or a victim of one of those "idiots".

I guess I went OT there, sorry. As for blade shape, yeah I can see how black funky looking blades could be scary :rolleyes: for certain people....
 
I also think what people are used seeing and how you open the knife also plays a role.

For example, no one bats an eye when I use my SAK. I get more of a reaction when I use my Delica or Navigator (smaller than my SAK), especially when I open it one handed.
