This is pretty neat! It’s the very same axe that appears in the Axe Makers of North America on page 14.
The pulp axe was used in mills to move pulp wood around with the long spike.
Although Allan was calling it a Tommy Axe in the book, it’s obviously not what people think of as a the Tommy Axe (a True-Temper).
This, I think, is more accurately called a Pulp Axe.
Both Larry and Allan said that it was the only one they had ever seen. It originally came from Jim Nolte’s collection. As the caption says, 4lbs 16 1/4”. It’s the Seattle Hardware Occident brand.
