The Purple Heart Knife (medal, not wood)

Rich,
Please give Jake our most heartfelt wishes for a speedy and rapid recovery. You are right, it is people like J. and Tess that make everything worthwhile even though I have never met them face to face. I wasn't expecting to have a lump in my throat when I visited this forum this morning but I suppose I should learn to expect the unexpected from this place.

Merry Christmas to you and yours and may God bless you all.

Craig

Rich, I just got back from visiting family and I couldn't have come home to better news. It's great to hear that Jake is continuing to improve and that the whole family's healing is progressing in a positive way. It was an honor to make the Purple Heart set for Jake and a great gift to us that your family had such kind words about the finished product. Thanks again to you and yours and our most heartfelt wishes again to Jake on a speedy recovery. May he make great use of that knife/sheath for many, many years to come.

PS- your always welcome here Rich, thanks again.
J.

Well here is a post that I thought was long gone. I look at it and thank God for Jakes recovery and to people like you folks who support and pray daily for our sons and daughters who are protecting us. Last I wrote, Jake was on his 17th operation. He is now up to 23. They replaced his forehead (had a craneotomy to relieve pressure while in Irag) and are now prepairing him to receive a device to replace the roof of his mouth that was blown away when he was hit hit with the grenade. After that he will get his upper teeth and then comes the cosmetic surgeries. Again I want to thank all of you for thinking of Jake and my family and rest assured we appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. J and Tess not only are you great craftsmen in your trades but you are what America is all about. Most of all I am honored to call you two my friends. Your family is the AMERICAN family and I know that had he have to do it all over again Jake would make the same sacrifice again to keep you, me and the rest of us safe from harm. GOD BLESS and thank you all.

Our best wishes and prayers are always there for Jake, his family and all our sodiers and their families. We're just glad to be here to help out.

Thanks again Rich and I'll look forward to seeing you this weekend.

Just bumping this one back up. My brother from CA is visiting here and I was telling him about the above knife and the great work J. and his better half have been doing. The Purple Heart knife and sheath has to be seen to be appreciated.

During these trying times of war, folks should remember artists such as the Neilsens and what they did for a soldier that was severly wounded.
J. and Tess, you ROCK!
