The Pygmy Falcon has landed

I think I'll be next! What is that extra pocket clipped on your bag john? I'm wondering if that's the same one that Jeff had on the upper right side of his PFII. I'd like to order one of those to put on mine when I get one.

That is a volta battery case. It carries 8 AA batteries in a plastic case.

It is such a great pack, I bought one after seeing TTD's all loaded up, and use it almost every day.

one main reason I love the pack is the netted cargo pockets for a pair of nalgene bottles,I prefer over bladders anyday.... I did picK up a NF pack almost Identical to the PFII,looks less tactical in the urban sprawl and just swap gear from pack to pack...

I use these battery carriers in all of my packs since I generally prefer to be battery heavy and they fit in all sorts of spaces that might otherwise go unused. I use different colors for different sized batteries, allowing quick identification in the field. For AA's, my most commonly used size, I prefer glow in the dark carriers (same style but obtained from a different supplier).

I use these for my 123's because they are weather resistant (sealed with O-rings) and they are the batteries used in my duty lights.

Thanks for the reply johnspark. I will be getting one of those because I'll need plenty of batteries.

Great pack from what I have read & seen. I will order one very soon as my two packs are on the large side for quick walks with the kids. The PF2 seems ideal for a fast walk around hike.

Looks like a nice pack and I know Maxpedition's build quality but 9.5" W seems pretty darned narrow.

Is it comfortable to carry when loaded? I don't suppose I could get you to take a pic with the pack on can I?

Thanks,

B

Look for the Pics from our new destination this weekend. Amicolola (sp?) Falls State Park. Should be a good hike.

This thread is 4 weeks old but caught my eye...

Just got a new Pygmy Falcon in a trade for an old Benchmade Nimravus.

Great build quality. Perfect size. Gonna get stuffed with essentials(including the RC-4) and be the Jeeps bug-out bag.

I highly recommend it as a small/med pack:thumbup:

My Pygmy Falcon II is pulling diaper bag duty :o
I used to cram it full of ammo when I went shooting. It might have weighed 50lbs sometimes. Then I'd take it on a little hike, to get to where I could shoot. Pretty comfortable over all. I might pick up another one for a truck bag.

That is good to know. I wish there was a Pygmy Falcon II with a hyration pouch. The netting is good either way, but I rather have the ability to use a water reserve for staying hydrated. Looking for something that would be good to EDC that was useful, comfortable and still capable. Seems like this may be it. I like the Falcon II, but it seems too deep for it's size.
