Hi all!

As you know, I started this whole Emerson thing late, (I saw the light at the Blade Show 2000, right John?) and yesterday, after the purchase of a brand new CQC5 and lot of sacrifices I finally completed the CQC series...

Now my question is, what should I do next?

Variations inside the CQC series?
Rhino, ES1M?
Pre-Tacs (No thanx, two big players there!

Let's see!

BTW this is the CQC5 I got yesterday...

Thanx for all the people that helped me!

Do it again. Do it all over again.

Their is a black coated secondary bevel 6 floating around out their, and at least 1 serated 6, and the spearpoint 7 serated.

You have more work to do.

The quest is not over.

When i recover...

I will go for the variations on the CQC series...

Like the sculpted handle, black blade CQC8, waved CQC8, black blade CQC9, plain CQC9, spear point viper 4/CQC6 (japanese market), spear point CQC7, black blade CQC6... It's amost endless.... Great!

It's a PROCESS.
It's YOUR journey.

Viper series...Fixed blade series...Non-series knives, i.e. Rhino, ES1-M, etc., etc., etc.

BTW...beautiful series you put together there. Enjoy them.

Actually Allan, seeing your collection, in special that pic that you have with all the CQC's, ispired me big time...

After seeing Nyeti & Tami's... I cried!

Hey Joel, I think you should sell them all to me and then start over

Its an Emerson thing. You wouldn't understand.

Way to go Joel!

I am about as green with envy as that micarta is.

The quest is NEVER over. I thought I would be satisfied when and if I would just get ONE custom Emerson. Then I thought, "Hey, that's a sweet looking piece!". Then you get a favorite and you have to have more than one of those, right?

It's like a skill. You constantly have to be changing your goal. Because, once you attain the first goal and don't re-assess and set a new goal you could become stagnant and lose what you've already attained.

Oh yeah and if YOU do lose what you have attained, try losing it my way

Joel:

That's a great looking collection! Congratulations!

As you know, once you start with that first piece, there's no looking back! As, you well know, the challenge to get the next one is greater than the challenge was to get the last one!

Now that you've completed the CQC series which knife is your favorite? Personally, believe it or not, I feel the CQC 6 is still the flagship of the line, and rates as the best knife in the series.

Now the challenge for you could be to start replacing some of those for the rarer models, such as the Half-moon logo's, or start looking for the Viper series logos.

And, lastly, I probably speak for Jackstaw as well, when I say that we both appreciate that your interests don't extend to acquiring any of the "pre-tacts"! Lord knows how difficult they are to obtain!

Man does my 8 look good!

Joel, go for the Rhino and ES1-M next. Although they aren't part of the CQC series, they have the same look. Then you just pick up whatever is availble.

If ignorance is bliss,
why aren't more people happy?

It's enough to bring tears to my eyes. Beautiful set, Joel! I am envious beyond belief!

Maybe one day I'll have a set like that too...

Joel, excellent set and pictures! I have a 6 and would like a 5 to complete my CQC collection. I think the 6 is Ernie's classic design. This would go with the ES1-M I have on order. Dick

My favorite is the CQC7, close by the CQC5...

And the best one there is the CQC8 (thanx Dirk!)

I think that I will pursuit the ES1M and the Rhino and then the variations of the CQC series...

OH MY GOD!

Why do I hang out here, all you people try to do is kill me!

Joel, turn over a new leaf. Nature photography or something. Unburden yourself of those instruments of violence. Give them to me and I will exorcise the demons from them and lock them in a holy container to keep the world safe from evil...

What to do next?
Get the Viper series.
Then the fixed blades.
Find the elusive Persian tactical.
Your quest may take you to the ends of the earth.

Huh...Wha?

Sorry, I was asleep at work again.

Did someone say Tactical Persian?
