The Rabbit Hole- drawing the line on upgrades

1) can you afford it?
2) does it make you happy?
3) are there NO other things you could do with that money that would make you happier? or multiple things vs the single thing?

If you answered yes to all of those, then piece together that $400 bugout and be happy!
 
$500.00. Is right about my line. Any more than that, it wouldn't be a user. A knife is a tool to do work. It's a bonus if it flips, looks cool, and is made out of fancy materials. If I won the lottery my outlook would undoubtedly change.
 
I would draw the line when the Upgrade money almost equals the cost of the base knife and $400 bucks IS Sabenza money, Not worth it IMHO and it would be a stretch to get close to what you paid for it if you were to sell it. That said if that's what you desire to "Make it yours" then go for it! YOLO bro.
